"Has he (Lee) ever studied the history?"... asked Eastwood. Lee had noted the lack of African-Americans in Eastwood's movie and told reporters: "That was his version. The negro version did not exist." In Flags of Our Fathers, Eastwood says, yes, there was a small detachment of black troops on Iwo Jima as a part of a munitions company, "but they didn't raise the flag. The story is Flags of Our Fathers, the famous flag-raising picture, and they didn't do that. http://film.guardian.co.uk/interview/interviewpages/0,,2283921,00.html
Spike Lee is just another black racist entertainer... most unfortunate. Hopefully he'll take Mr. Eastwoods advice to prevent further embarrassment.
Just ridiculous that Clint even had to address Spike's comments...the next thing you know, ol Spike will be complaining why there aren't any black heroes in Jet Li movies about ancient China, or movies like Troy and Alexander.
Isn't Clint an actor who repeats lines written by a professional writer? Isn't it the scriptwriter the one you shouldn't mess with? Probably some wirery nerd.
