Climate Change

  1. There is tons of temp data prior to 94 and it's not "made up junk" or "fiction".

And you want to tell us how wrong the experts are but you don't even know how the oceans are warming. Truly amazing. Right wing thinking at it's finest.

Air temp recordings are NOT obsolete. They just don't tell us the heat content of the earth. Why you have so much trouble with this simple concept is a mystery. Oh no it's not. You're a righty.

So where is most of the heat content of the earth? In the oceans, eh?

Your own chart shows the total increase in ocean heat content over 50 years is a tiny 20*10^22 joules representing a mere 0.04 degrees on temperature increase - which is less than the instrument error.

Your charts and figures only prove there is no global warming issue - even when you try to present the charts with scary Y axis scales.

    0.04 degrees?

  4. Yes the oceans represent 94% of the earth's heat and they are gaining heat ever faster. They gain heat by gaining both volume and temperature. That's all you need to know. Try not to hurt your brain with other thoughts. I've given up on trying to explain to you that temps are not the same as heat content. You're just too stupid.

Except the amount of heat the oceans are gaining is so minimal, it is next to meaningless. A fact that has been pointed out by a large number of marine scientists.

  6. It's a huge amount of heat that is anything but meaningless, you idiot.

This figure shows changes in ocean heat content between 1955 and 2013. Ocean heat content is measured in joules, a unit of energy, and compared against the 1971–2000 average, which is set at zero for reference. Choosing a different baseline period would not change the shape of the data over time. The lines were independently calculated using different methods by three agencies: the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), and Japan Meteorological Agency’s Meteorological Research Institute (MRI/JMA). For reference, an increase of 5 units on this graph (5 x 1022 joules) is equal to approximately 100 times the total amount of energy used by all the people on Earth in a year. 4

  7. Newly published data suggest that a hiatus in rising global air temperatures in the 21st century is the result of heat sinks deep in the Atlantic and Southern oceans. The trend is likely connected to roughly 30-year global warming and cooling cycles, according to researchers.

The study could put to rest a long-standing debate among scientists about why air temperature rise had halted after a period of rapid increases at the end of the 20th century.

"We weren't surprised by the results, but this is the first time we've been able to prove it," said Ka-Kit Tung, a co-author of the study and adjunct professor of applied mathematics at the University of Washington.

More heat is on the way
Based on previous trends, the current "cooling" cycle is likely about halfway over, he said. Rapid warming is expected to resume again in about a decade, though exact predictions are difficult to make.

Previous studies had focused on the Pacific Ocean as the likely location of a heat sink. However, this latest study stated that because heat cycling in the Pacific occurred much closer to the ocean's surface, the capacity of which could not account for the observed changes in the global warming trend.

The science is settled, nuclear power is the greenest...

Nuclear power is the greenest option, say top scientists

Nuclear power is one of the least damaging sources of energy for the environment, and the green movement must accept its expansion if the world is to avoid dangerous climate change, some of the world's leading conservation biologists have warned.
