    Anyone keeping up with the issue just knew the heat was going somewhere, the physics of the CO2 molecule have not changed. And the Earth's albedo is going down, not up.

  8. No. They are not expected to be exactly proportional. Natural variations of course will result in something other than a smooth line. The air is just a small fraction of the earth's heat.

  10. In fact, if one looks at the chart of ocean heat content above, one can see an increase in rate starting around '98.
