Cleaning LCD Screens

  1. Can anyone tell me what is the proper way to clean LCD screens? Mine are starting to get pretty dirty...

  2. I use a *slightly* damp paper towel - nothing else.

Also be in the habit of not touching them with your fingers; the oils attract crud. Only dust should be on the surface and the paper towel removes it quickly w/out scratching the surface.

  3. "Clean the LCD monitor surface with a link-free, non-abrasive cloth. Avoid using any cleaning solution or glass cleaner!"

I have a sprayer with distilled water... that and soft paper towels wiped gently.

I also have a very soft long bristled brush to wipe away the dust.

Make sure the screen power is off if you wipe it with a damp cloth.
