Just curious. Do you guys find CL harder to trade as the next contract's volume starts quickly catching up with that of the currently dominant contract? That is, near the volume transition period.
Okay, and would you consider the present time as being a part of that transition period? The reason I ask is that the August contract's volume is already almost 70% of July's volume at the time of this writing, so it is clearfy cutting into the dominant month's action. http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/energy/crude-oil/light-sweet-crude.html
Yes, rolls are happening now. But I do not change over until they change over in pit. This coming Monday they will start trading august as primary.
you will be good until this friday. next week, switch to August. QUOTE]Quote from Cotton: Is there any worry about being assigned so close to expiration? [/QUOTE]
Just curious. After all the ups and downs after your entry (nevertheless in profit territory), what made you decide to exit where you did?
That only happens in options. In futures you just get out the day before expiration and your fine (latest). FYI, some contracts you have to get out before first notice, if not you can be assigned. For example cbot products have first notice before expiration. But nymex products have expire before first notice.
