My second day trading CL (a couple of years ago) I lost 1500 USD (one contract) on inventories - careful!

Hi mabenn, very nice trading today. Sorry about that last one, what a move. Something I've noticed is that once a trend reversal signal is put in (which you took advantage of on the double-top) and a 5-min bar closes below the 20-bar EMA (10:05am bar), expect an overshoot of the lower Keltner (dev 1.0) band. Basically, avoid longs until you get buyers at or below the lower band. You want to stay with the current micro-trend IMHO.

ADD: I don't trade CL on Weds till after inventory. Just scares me...

Thanks for your insight. I set up what your talking about on my chart. Looks solid, break, break, lookout.

I figured with a market that has less than 10 on the bid/offer alot there would be some slippage. 20 pts is a little wackey though. Will have to factor big slippage in going forward. One thing I have noticed already is my atr trailing stop strategy doesn't work that well. Better to have targets and see how the market reacts at those targets

    So far today
