Scaling out. There will come a time when I should trade 5 lots. That time is not now. I need a lot more experience and risk capital IMHO. First 5-lot trade I posted, Blotto warned me it was beyind my exp level. Schiz told me size up slowly over time upon proving myself with steady results. Then the blow-up thread and ammo's PM at the same time was enough for the message to get through. And yes CL offers plenty for the small trader!
I too threw in a "pisser" trade at the low and still managed to lose 13 ticks. Finally got fed up with CL and switched over to ES where I made some dough but hardly enough to recover the losses incurred from CL. Again, I pissed away what little I made yesterday.
For some reason the only markets I understand and seem to make the most money in is 6B and 6E ( Currency Future) and Crude Oil .... NSDQ and ES totally destroy me so I will definitaly stay away from them. I dont know maybe its just me.............or my psych. As for me today +75 ticks total .............1 contract. Coulda been double that but I still tend to lose focus coz of watching my PNL go up and All i see is $$$ in my eyes, lol.
I was the exact same way, but Ive been doing much better in ES and ZN lately. If anything CL really helped(is helping) me refine my trading. I love trading oil though, its a wild ride.
double click it on the DOM, you can switch it to display percentage up or down or how many cents/points/pips/whatever up or down. Less distracting than seeing dollar amounts. You can do the same on the chart trader as well if you use that. Edit* you have to be in a position to switch it, so try it out in the morning. You can save the change though.
Yes, Crude moves nicely, I hate stuff that moves slow, or sideways, you will know if youre wrong or right quickly here...and you need to bring your A game... but profits are endless....
I use chart trader to enter trades coz its soo convenient and usually my entrance are market orders so its very convenient, the little box that shows me my current Price position it what disturbs me lol
Just double click the display box man, the one on the right side, not the one on the chart itself, they'll both change.
