Happy brithday MrBo question - your value areas from Thursday, you have VAL as 80.15 and the LOD was 80.09. Doesn't the VAL seem a little low? can anyone else confirm from their MP data? 6 ticks from a brief LOD print at 80.09 & to say VA contained 70% of TPO action seems incorrect? VA = Value Area Range of prices containing 70% of TPO's in a profile. The Value Area is where price was accepted by the "majority" of the market participants. VAL (or LVA) = Value Area Low Lowest price of previous day's Value Area.
stumbled upon this cool website called infomine you can look at a zillion different commodities with any underlying currency, They only have brent crude as an option but it can still give you perspective. Still have one short QM that didn't get stopped out on Friday and I was waiting for 82.30 all day friday and we're here now so I guess I'll stick with the plan and short 3 more QMs here at 82.30. http://www.infomine.com/investment/charts.aspx?mv=1&f=f&r=3m&c=cbrent_crude_oil.xeur.ubarrel#chart
Dx moves in direction of Friday's spike. This is basic stuff wether it be fat finger, bad print or flash crash.....
Thanks. @No Emotion: I use the Value Area of the past 9:30 session, for example today I am going to use the Value Area of 9:30 session of Friday. I use Prive over time, some people use Prive over Volume, which it could give you different results, its people that claim that it's better with Volume, but I particularly haven't used it that way. @EOKind It's low because it's base of the time that spent around that area no base on how many different 30 min bar it touches. Sometimes it looks little low, but it's part of the 70% distribution. Good luck today. Today I am a year older hopefully wiser, for trading
Argh, that sucks, just by a bit before the move. Here working on pulling the trigger, win or lose. Good luck/skill everybody.
Smacked right into R2 just as the DX is catching a bid at 77. Seems to easy must be a trap. I'm only adding one short QM at 83.20. Look to add more around 83.425
