Ammo, your target was exactly what my target method came up with and I thought there was some kind of magic mojo happening between us that guaranteed a new low. What happened to this POS?
Yes, Skipping the lower volume lunch time would have a negative impact. I may just post end of day results instead of cluttering the thread with my reversals. BTW how many ticks of slippage should I be calculating in my backtesting? I'm only trading 1 contract right now with 2 ticks of slippage factored in to every trade.
flat..before electronic trading, there was a saying ,noon ballon, if the specialists were short, they would cover a few to lighten there position before going to lunch, the inverse works also on an up day
Thanks Blox. If your system is - as it seems - SAR, then 2 ticks per trade sounds about right on average if you're using the ask for buys and the bid for sells (provided of course you don't trade at inventories/major news releases). Btw, your reversals don't clutter the thread, it's always interesting to see different trading styles in real time.
Your short here coincided with a pre-market lower channel line I'd drawn near the NYMEX open. It acted as resistance and convinced me to join you. Took almost half hour to get my damn 20 ticks!
it's open interest, put it on there awile back and never removed it,its useless it just whips up and down with the rollovers, month to month, when it drops at non exp times,it means shorts are covering ,but i don't watch/use it enough to trust it
