Some good valid points. I thought this poster yesterday had an interesting perspective in this post... Forex: trading the professional side of FX market
Is Hitchens still alive? If not, we know where he is now. He is in Hell where he belongs. I hope he likes the warmth.
Can't disagree with this, the more astounding that Hitchens could not bring forward a single argument against the existence of a creator God. Neither has he in his entire lifetime and 18 books. I share many of his diatribes against organized man-made religion, yet not one single respected and peer reviewed scientist on earth would claim that matter created itself out of nothing. This violates all laws of basic physics.
Again, you clearly speak of something you know nothing about. You should read at least the first couple pages of the Bible to understand how a flawed and sinful being came about. You don't have to believe it but you should at least know the points and arguments of the other side that you attempt to debate. Otherwise it is hard to take anything you say seriously.
No, it's called a perfectly free will. You have a problem with admitting that designing a perfectly free will in itself is not ill-intended. It is intended to let the being decide for him/herself. Just as you have a free will to decide for or against the existence of God. The creation of you was not ill-intended even if God knew beforehand you would deny him.
At the very least he is finally finding out the truth and must face his creator and account for his existence and purpose in life. Accounts being settled if you will.
Spoken like a true christian, a know it all! Was just thinking today about a comment made by one of your christian mates, hoping/looking forward to sinners burning in hell.... Christian say they love God, but they have little to zero respect for other humans. They respect God so they claim, don't respect anyone not of their creed, but strangely christians respect the devil. Yeah, shit scared of him! LMAO! You guys are so fucked up! Thank Christ I got the fuck out of your church!
We could actually have a way more meaningful exchange of thought if you would take all the personal attacks and insults and fuxxyous toward an entire religion out of the equation. Not that I feel attacked but you kind of prevent yourself from clear thought. I let my comment about you stand because it is blatantly clear that you know next to nothing about the Bible. Multiple comments of yours demonstrate that. So, I am not sure what exactly you have done during the time spent at some church that seemingly got you so riled up. Back to the topic and again: the Bible answers during the first couple pages why a perfectly designed human being fell and turned into what we are today. You can reject to believe that but you can't deny the existence of the claim itself.
Dream on with the bed time stories. It wasn't long ago Christians didn't believe in dinasours. You all think gay people are off to hell, like they weren't human but I notice that opinion is changing. Women, always denigrated in the bible basically, aren't allowed to lead, especially not allowed to lead in church and they need to be subservient to the male, that's now changing... Humans, not allowed to work on the sabbath, oh that's changed now. The bible, believe in it until it doesn't work, then, oops, change of opinion. Noah stuffed all the animals in the world in a tub afloat ark, yeah, can't find trace of the ark, but it's a true story. Don't believe in it? That's because of lack of faith. Bible is choc full of bullshit, glad you believe it.
