Christina Taylor Green, 9-year-old victim in Tuscon shooting, born on 9/11; had passion for politics

One of the six people slain by the Arizona madman was the 9-year-old granddaughter of former Yankees and Mets manager Dallas Green.

Christina Taylor Green, a student at Mesa Verde Elementary School who was born Sept. 11, 2001, attended Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' event to learn about the political system.

Christina was a member of the student government and also loved baseball, horseback riding and swimming.

Christina's father is John Green, Dallas Green's son, who is the East Coast supervisor of amateur scouts for the Los Angeles Dodgers. John Green told the Arizona Star-News that his daughter had developed an interest in politics.

"She was a good speaker. I could have easily seen her as a politician," he said.

Christina's mother, Roxanna, said, "She was all about helping people and being involved. It's so tragic. She went to learn today, and then someone with so much hatred in their heart took the lives of innocent people."

Dallas Green, now 76, managed the Yankees for three-quarters of the season in 1989 until he was abruptly fired by George Steinbrenner at a Detroit hotel while the Bombers were in town to play the Tigers.

Green had butted heads with Steinbrenner after famously calling him "Manager George." Green also managed the Mets in 1993-1996 before being replaced by Bobby Valentine.

Green managed the Phillies to a 1980 World Series championship and is now an adviser to the Phillies. He was honored with a spot on the Phillies Wall of Fame in 2006. He currently lives in Newark, Del.

A neighbor invited Christina to Giffords' event, her uncle said.

"She was real special and real sweet," Christina's uncle, Greg Segalini, told The Arizona Republic.

The other dead were identified as Federal Judge John Roll, Pastor Dorwin Stoddard, 75, of Mountain Ave. Church of Christ, Gabe Zimmerman, 30, an aide to the congresswoman, Dorothy Morris, 76, and Phyllis Scheck, 79.

  2. "The crossfire is intense, so penetrate through enemy territory by bombing through the press, and use your strong weapons -- your Big Guns -- to drive to the hole. Shoot with accuracy; aim high and remember it takes blood, sweat and tears to win,"- Sarah Palin

  3. Sarah's people were working overtime yesterday removing posts of Palin followers

Mark Kerr- Thank you Sarah for targeting her! She was a liberal Jew who was ruining our country with Obama care and she deserved to die. One down, 16 to go!

James Nierescher- I'm sad that it wasn't Nancy Pelosi.... Maybe next year.

  4. Hello

    Hello

No matter how many times you left wing whackos try to exploit this incident to blame it on Sarah Palin it doesnt make it true.

The fact of the matter is that his friends knew him as a far left liberal.

Quote from Catie Parker on MSNBC

“As I knew him he was left wing, quite liberal. & oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy,”

If anything it is more likely the angry far left loons keith olbermann and Ed schultz pushed him over the edge, since he was a far left liberal it is very unlikley that he wouild have had any respect for anything Sarah Palin would have said.

This is Deranged Rover's thread. Sorry, no facts allowed. :)

  6. Fact, the right wants to say he was a lift wing nut because someone who hasn't seen him in 4 years says so

  7. Hello

    Hello

Fact: Jared Loughners friends knew him as a far left liberal

Fact: The left is trying to blame this on comments made by Sarah Palin even though there is zero evidence of any kind to support that.

Fact: The left is trying to exploit the deaths of these people for political gain, and it is absolutely despicable.

  8. “As I knew him he was left wing, quite liberal. & oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy,” the former classmate, Caitie Parker, wrote in a series of Twitter feeds Saturday. “I haven’t seen him since ’07 though. He became very reclusive.

A black President being elected in 2008 and a guy who is a fan of "Mein Kampf" could explain a party switch

  9. If you haven't had contact with someone since 2007 I wouldn't call them a friend

  10. Hello

    Hello

Sorry but that is just wild speculation at this point, and you have no evidence to support it.

The only evidence we have at this point says that the guy is a far left liberal, and until we find evidence to the contrary all the garbage you are writing, trying to blame this on Sarah Palin is pure speculation.
