You're confusing the weapons manufacturer with the coffee maker.

    1. I quote what you wrote below... it implies that the Romans were doing it for Christ. now you may say that you did not write Jesus.... but we are familiar with your posting pattern... denigrating christians or christ is what you and your cut and paste articles from salon frequently do.

    2. However since it was my goal to really set the record straight... you are invited to support your new claim. If you wish to now say the spread of Islam was not really due to Islam but Persian imperialism... go for it.

I am interested in learning. Please deal directly with the timing of the conquests and the nature of the conquests that seem to begin with Mohammed.

I said nothing about Christ or Christianity because neither were relevant. When I said that they didn't do it for Zeus, I meant that there was no religious motive. But since your view of all this is so warped, you see slights where none exist.

Your embrace of victimhood is awfully tiresome.

As for setting the record straight, you simply continue the confusion. The conflict between East and West (the West being defined for these purposes as Europe) began long before Christ and Muhammed. Blaming it now on religious differences is only a rationalization to justify the conflict, believing that the easily-manipulated are more likely to respond to conflict based on religious differences than on differences over border. Which is of course true.

  5. Wrong. Just because religion isn't important to liberals here, don't imagine that it is not important to others.

Of course, you are right that some of the islamist leaders are like Al sharpton, in it for the money and power and using religion to delude the masses.

People don't strap explosives on themselves and blow themselves up in a territorial dispute however. Contrast the ISIS fighters with the Iraq army, trained and paid for by the U. S. taxpayer. One fights to the death, the other drops its US-furnished weapons and runs.

What we are seeing in the midddle east today is a battle for supremacy between shia and sunni. Both see violent conquest, expansion and religious repression as the natural order of things.

If you want to believe that it's all about religion, you are certainly entitled to do so.

    did AAA just say that?
I never claim nor want to be a victim.
America has been great to me... I just feel bad for what you team is doing to the future for our kids.

What I do is call you out for your douche and derail technique and your anti Christian crap.

you are the one with the constantly warped douchey responses.
then you deny what you implied... when you are called out.
so if this is the one time you were not denigrating christianity... on a thread with this title... it would be a first.

You love being a victim. And what does Christianity have to do with any of this? As I said, the conflict began before Christianity, but you're only interested in whatever reinforces whatever you believe, so why bother doing any "research" at all?
