They say "fair and balanced" because they provide both sides of the issue! Jesus people what is so hard to understand about that? One last time here. Yes, Fox has a conservative point of view on their "prime time" programming lineup. But when they present an issue, they have guests on from "both" sides. Thereby letting you hear both sides of an issue and "deciding" for yourself where you stand. Hence the term "fair and balanced". Good lord people, enough already.

FOX news is the gold standard in impartial journalism? Seriously, put down the kool-aid.

Ever heard of a strawman? That's what Alan Colmes is. A big liberal pussy that folds like a cheap suit to maintain the illusion FOX is "balanced" and consistently 'right on the issues'. Not saying FOX doesn't have some good reporting, or a truly balanced panel. Sure they do. Sometimes. That you can't admit FOX is a hardcore media arm for the Republican party is laughable. Remember back during GW? FOX was the biggest war-mongering network on the planet. The war, terror threat and Police State was pushed 24/7, in lock-step with the administration. After the neo-cons were thrown out, the GOP reinvented itself and co-opted the Libertarian-leaning tea-party, and look at FOX, all of a sudden they did a complete 180, and now, are decidedly pro-libertarian, pro-Tea Party, anti-big Government. It's a joke. They really changed their ways, huh?

You said that political bias in media is only coincidental and not editorial. Were you born yesterday? Who do you think owns these new outlets? Perfect little angels sworn to unbiased reporting? Every person has a political bias. Journalists, sure. AND the people (or Corporations) they work for. Seriously. Go read about Ted Turner. That guy is one of the biggest enviro-cranks on the planet. I'm sure it's just a 'coincidence' CNN fear-mongers global warming and overpopulation every chance they get. And the Government never lies, always tells the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. That brash naivete you seem to love is one the reasons why America is at the brink of fiscal disaster. You Boomers seem to enjoy being fooled by con-men in ten thousand dollar suits...

You will think much better with the tin foil hat off your head. Not everything is a conspiracy. But if it makes you feel better, believe whatever you want.

  6. Fair and balanced:

ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos warned Michele Bachmann that the media plans on investigating all 23 of her foster children, just like they did with Obama or any other democratic politico. Wait, what?

Stephanopoulos: Finally one—one final question. I think one of the most impressive things that people find in your background is the fact that you and your husband have helped raise 23 foster children and I know you want to shield them but are they prepared and are you prepared for the loss of privacy that comes with the president campaign? And is that something you are concerned about for them?

Bachmann: Well when we were making this momentous decision we sat down for a long time as a family and contemplated what this was meaning and yes, we are ready. We have five wonderful biological children. Our last one is off to college our oldest one is a doctor. And then we had great – a great 23 foster children in our home as well. And as you can imagine and appreciate we’ve tried to keep a good handle on their privacy and we will do that, we will respect their privacy. We are thankful that we had them but we also want to observe their privacy and that of their families.

  7. I have said that I stopped watching Fox after they faked Ron Paul being booed at CPAC. It is on Youtube using their Search if you missed it.

No. That is not Fair and Balanced. That is not presenting "both" sides.

That is a blatant agenda-driven approach - and pointing to other shows means nothing. Nothing.

    Other shows have their problems.

    Fox's problems are its own.

  10. This one is telling:
