The scary thing about this move up in the EURUSD is that according the Oanda it has been accompanied by a large INCREASE in traders (using its system) getting short - see http://fxtrade.oanda.com/resources/trastats/ratio_positions.shtml so even if we dip here there will be a lot of short covering to do.... Q1
We saw a prolonged period (last 2 years) with a small range of movements for long periods. I mused that it would be dipping and popping around 1.30 for long periods, but it was 1.20 and 1.25 instead. The tendency/characteristics were the same as I was anticipating, but the levels were not. Now that we saw the upside of 1.30 again, what are your thoughts for 2007 ? Oil is coming down somewhat, but producers want to keep it close to current levels. The growth has seemed pretty steady in most sectors, and can this rub off otherwise now. With the "lame duck" president now, there might be grounds for a change ? BTW I'm working on programming projects still, but following the fx mostly every day. And then I had to revive the thread for old sake's sake as well ... ;D
It's very simple now. We're near pre-Soros levels in the pound. If we can't get through we will most certainly experience a colossal sell off in the pair which,I hope, will start a new m/t downtrend. If we get through.... but I can't even talk about it.
