    Hello Ivanovich,

Glad to see you relaxed at Greece with your girl)

Bad news is that 7-2, but expected 9-0 or 8-1.(

  2. Yes, the 7-2 wasn't the greatest, was it. Regardless, I think if you wait a little, you might see Sterling come back. I'm in no rush, the interest differential is nice.

    Cheers.

    Ivanovich:

First of all, let me say that your photos from Greece is above excellent and I think the whole web site is too as I've just look a little. I also like photography and hope I'll have more time on this summer.

Concerning spread, I mean not on holidays, but before important news.

By the way, I know one important news that one big Russian food chain is to be selling to by any chance the company where you work?)

    2cents:

I've read it in GFT demo platform which has news screen. I think the best news providers are Reuters, Bloomberg where you can read it and also you may find last minutes at BoE site.

    Regards.

  8. OfmY,

Thanks for the compliments, re the site :) No, I'm not in Russian retail, I'm in an FMCG company :)

Regarding news services, I'm sorry, but I firmly believe that if you're an avid/serious trader, then you need a subscription service. There are several out there, but I use Thompson. They come with analysis, rumors, option data, etc.

There is just no way you can get that type of insider stuff from a typical service like Bloomberg, unless of course, you pay for a Bloomberg Terminal.

Yeah, I mean not their web site but software with real-time streaming news etc.

The best source is probably REUTERS 3000 XTRA, but it's probably too expensive, but in here Russia they created special services like IScreen with less fee.

Concerning Thompson how do you find it and what is the fee per month?

p.s. IMHO Usually there enough rumors and insider stuff to explain every significant move either up or down. That's why I don't rely on it.

    Hi guys,

Ivan, here in the UK, it was highly speculated that a rate cut was in order, either this time gone by, or next time, but certainly sometime this year.

I haven't been checking out the forums recently due to personal things going on (grandma passed away), but here on the ground in the UK, its quite a strong sentiment that interest rates being lowered a little *may* help the economy, specifically the housing market has slowed right down, aswell as the retail sector. Being a retailer myself, the difference is quite marked between now and for example a few months before the election.

I shorted GBPUSD, and made about 40 pips before I lost my nerve to watch the chart move closer and closer to my TP line on Oanda and then move away, it felt like it was teasing me before it would hike back up lol. So I closed it manually!

Overall made back some losses this week, but it was a weird one, on EURUSD specifically.

Fantastic pics Ivan, thanks for sharing.

Currently I'm short on EURUSD from 1.2099.

Interesting re Thompson, I've been looking for a good news source, have loads from Saxo and CMC (free) etc, but wanted something a bit quicker, if it exists. Would appreciate your feedback and any links on Thompson.

Thanks and have a great weekend all.

    Regards
