Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

  1. This week should probably be one of some consolidation after last weeks heady drop - I'll be looking to sell rallies between 1.27 - 1.2750 for 1.25 (initially)

TICs data this afternoon could be a market mover short term although I think the market has already shown its hand.

    Good Luck.

  3. Yeah let see what happens - I'm sitting USDCHF short from 1.2259 for the short term bounce. Although I'm short EURUSD for the longer term... and looking to add.

  4. Went long at 1.2595. I think a base has formed, and daily bearish momentum has lost it's bite. I realize fundies point lower in the coming months, but pricing suggests a range here for a bit. I do not anticipate any lower for the next...well, till the end of the week at the very least.

Of course, much higher than expected Core today could smash that theory out the window.

  5. Nah, I think this whole euro deal has soured.

Yes, there's two directions, but only USD makes sense (for now).

We break 1.2550, the institutional euro-bulls are gunna jump ship faster than a wharf rat headed for the South Pole.

It'd be a matter of damage-control at that point.

We ain't had a whoops-retracement yet, there ain't one coming.

    See yah a cent down....

  6. I dropped the EUR @ 1.2650 on it's failed break of 65. (55 pips profit). Whoops...forgot to add that I pivoted and went short there too.

With all due respect, Coinz - I notice you are a lot cockier now that the EUR is down where you were short. I can appreciate you holding out that long and getting lucky, but I also find it horrifying you held out for - what was it, 6 months? 8 months?

That's not trading to me. That's praying.

  7. Well, it just goes to show... prayer works.

'scuse me now, Ivan, I need to go skalp the Mexican peso.

  8. Yes, it does. And I pray (I really do) that you never get burnt trading like that in the future.

    Cheers, sir.

  9. Yes, I stand in front of the mirror each morning and practise being cocky with lines like, "scuse me, bud, but I have to skalp the Hungarian forint."

[while in line at Vons] "could we speed it up, folks, *ahem* I got to go, like, trade the South African rand....

That one always gets a few heads to turn.

Yes, well, luck IS part of trading.
8 months, Ivan, and yes, it was horrifying. It was a white-knuckler.

I can't wait to do it again.

Say, do you think the euro may go up a thousand points anytime soon??
