I noticed the Euro made the move first..I had order to sell cable future at 89 which I was able to move back to 00 because it was lagging. wow..in this mkt you have to make your moves quick or profits can evaporate (or worse, acct balance could crater) in front of your own eyes! Is it always like this ? I'd think the thin mkt doesn't help either. I was watching (cable H05 future) on Book Trader. I notice 150 lot mktmkr only showing the offer (doesn't have a bid of 150 lots). Is there anything to learn from it? Also, it seems there is another one trying to make markets w/ 16 lot per side 9/10 pips wide most of the time. I don't see much in the futures mkt..so wouldn't leave any stop orders. I'm flat for now anyway.
lynx2004, No it's not always like this. This is holiday low liquidity BS. Moves are exaggerated so if you're a small fish (not big enough to move the market) you're jumping in for the exaggerated moves, hopefully with the knowledge that you could get burned in the process. Cheers, TRADERguy
Gotta love thin markets. I was stopped out of this one overnight at 52. Short again from 80, stop moved to 80. EDIT--Stopped out
I notice in IB IdealPRO spread changes frequently (I think IB says it's not a MM) currently spread has widened on the GBP -- it is as low as 3 and as high as 9 pips. It may be due to the thin mkt.
jbt, thanks for the link and your report-- succinct and to the point--I've added it to my list of reports read.
