Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

  1. The EUR pushing down while other majors floated was pretty confusing to me -- tricky read today.

  2. Perhaps it's the crude oil wildcard. It went down almost $2.5 in 45 minutes!

    What do you usually trade?

  3. I basically watch EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, and CAD, but most of my executions are in euro. I'll take trades in others if I find they are offering better entry points, but I think you really need to be looking for bigger moves in those, otherwise watching something like the GBP chopping around will drive you nuts.

  4. Euro is enough for me now. I follow GBPUSD too but I only take trades in EUROUSD.

I'll eventually go back to ES/NQ and start trading the 10 year too. But first I need to get rid of all of the "sirens" :) I like your signature!

  5. Shaky trading in EURUSD today, with IB still sluggish here. The cable-connection has improved so it's more stable, though. 3 scalps, but after an ok 6 ticks scalp the other two drew me down to -12 ticks for the day. I guess I shouldn't push it when the trading platform doesn't respond as expected. Don't know if I'll risk trading any more either. IB TWS was fine until RTH on EuroFX, then it started to drag it's feet. Restarting helps some.

Markets are a difficult read too, as illiquid said. :)

  6. Ugly chart today for the US session. 6-7 ticks down including comissions.

  7. What is the current time difference between Central Europe (CET) and ET, it used to be 6 hours, but daylight saving time ended, in the US too?

  8. Yes daylight savings time ended in the US too. The time difference between ET and London is still 5 hours (I'm not sure exactly about the time zone CET).

  9. CET = +1 london, so 6 hours it is. Thanks.
