Chinese Short Plays

  1. Somehow I get the feeling that the next few months for Chinese stocks will be similar to the last few months for REITs. Anyone else getting that feeling?

The recent run-up in Chinese stocks trading in the US is crazy -- and in some instances, literally insane.

Take for example TSL. January 2007 lows at 17 a share reached a high of 51 -- IN ONLY 2 MONTHS!!!

These stocks should fall in a non-Bull market and should plummet in a Bear market.

    Any thoughts?

  2. Here's a good story...

After writing the original post, I was convinced that TSL is in fact a good short play. I didn't realize at first that the run-up occurred in just 2 months until I studied the graph more carefully so as to write an accurate post.

I shorted the stock just moments after posting at 42.80 per share, and it's been nothing but nice ever since.

    Good Luck!

  3. This one could break 40!
