    China has too much to gain from flouting intellectual property rights at the moment. They're not going to sit at the table until either:
    1) They become sophisticated enough that they have enough of their own IP that they want to protect.
    2) The US decides that it will stop trading with the Chinese unless China changes its IP policy. Right now the US gains too much from its trade policy with China to consider such a move.

    I wouldn't expect China to start talking about IP rights for another 5 to 10 years.

  3. Maybe it's the right timing for peace on the IP policy front. Everyone lose the less possible by acting now... Preemptive deal are the best thing to avoid any escalation in tension.

    And if both side wait to much, there maybe will be no other issue than war ( economically or more ) ...
