As always, you never read anything I or anyone else writes. Instead you just talk incessantly. There's no oil or gas shortages.
There's a massive oversupply in most chips, demand is dropping sharply. Key in electronics isn't manufacturing but design of machinery and research. Where the stuff is produced doesn't matter much at all.

Has China officially declared war on the US? Please don't bs around saying economic competition and rivalry equals full fledged war. Since when can citizens not choose their own job and employer? Are you seriously supporting this bullshit? When does it end? I thought you guys uphold and celebrate your freedom. It does not appear this way. It seeks some elites can tell you whatever they want and you eat their crap. Total control, total annexation of individual rights and freedom. I pity you if you truly believe those are commensurate measures.

Oversupply of chips? Ford and others cannot complete entire product lines because they can't get their hands on chips. Same with Japanese car makers. Nvidia just released its newest flagship video card. The cards were sold out within 4 minutes, and not because of a marketing ploy but because they can't get more allocations at the foundries. Companies can't get sufficient stock. The demand is there. Where do you live?

If they did, I don't think it played out as they wished it and a 3 yr time horizon on uncertain outcome seems a bit much.

I agree it's a sticky subject, considering that the US touts itself as a as a guardian of democracy. However, in the long run, I think there must be a safeguard in place to stop Chinese utilizing our technology to threaten that same democracy we cherish. I personally witnessed Tiananmen square massacre. I was also there in Hong Kong when the power was handed over to Chinese, who solemnly swore that it would not interfere with Hong Kong's autonomy. Trust me, Chinese will be a threat to our value of democracy if we turn a blind eye to what they're doing now.

Oh, I'm sure Xi Jinping knew 3 years ago what he needed to do to destabilize the West. The real question is, do YOU (and everyone in the West) know what would happen in the next 3 years?

Doubt China really cares about it much. It is matter of time before China catches up. Russia too. Just a matter of time. Maybe it will take Russia a bit longer. A decade or two later than China, but Russians are researching on 10nm transistors and below now.

Technologically human reaches the limitation of physical nature law. Anything less than 1nm in size, electrons don't obey the law of physics. Electrons pop in and out of nowhere. There seems to be no locationization. The fundamental of computing logic block and power "zero" and "one" doesn't work and destroyed at that level. The advance of technology will drastically slow down soon once hit 1nm.

Technology unlikely will change much for the next couple thousands of years.

Absolutely. This idea that due to democracy western countries must tolerate everything and allow equal opportunity to all outsiders and cannot interfere in anything, meanwhile every other country in the world is crafting rules that suite themselves exclusively - China with the forced tech transfer, Russia with the various spying operations, other countries not allowing foreigners to purchase land for example. It has become a one-way street.

Russia failed at 65nm. They can only successfully manufacture 90nm.
