WHAT A MORON, NO ONE GIVES A FUCK ABOUT THIS IDIOT

‘We Don’t Have to Sign Deals’: Trump Backs Off Big Promises About Tariffs
After weeks of bragging about upcoming trade “deals” with foreign countries, President Trump says the United States doesn’t need to worry about them after all.

But on Tuesday, with the Canadian prime minister sitting beside him in the Oval Office and no new trade deal between the two countries achieved, Mr. Trump had a different message for the public: “We don’t have to sign deals.”

“Everyone says ‘When, when, when are you going to sign deals?’” Mr. Trump said, at one point motioning toward Howard Lutnick, the commerce secretary. “We don’t have to sign deals. We could sign 25 deals right now, Howard, if we wanted to. We don’t have to sign deals. They have to sign deals with us. They want our market. We don’t want a piece of their market. We don’t care about their market.”

Thats what I'm saying. The back and forth headlines are making no sense at all. He mentions this and then a few hrs later does something else...

And the markets are literally eating it up.

Of course it's the algorithms and the dark pools eating it up, not retail investors.

Then why complain that India is a high tariff country? You don't want a piece of our market. Lower middle income country on the up move. And most populous too. Either your president is a nut, or, you guys are nuts to have voted him in, or, both.

Compare this to the language of UK government after finalizing India-UK trade deal.

"UK Prime Minister Starmer said Britain has agreed to a “landmark trade deal” with India. “Fantastic news for British business, British workers, and British shoppers, delivering on our Plan for Change. Good to speak to Prime Minister @NarendraModi as we mark this historic moment,” he said.

Under the Double Contribution Convention, skilled Indian workers employed in the UK and their employers will be exempted from paying social security contributions for three years, a longstanding India demand. Nasscom said this will not only enhance the access of Indian talent in the UK, but also create new opportunities for skilled professionals, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the UK’s dynamic economy.

“The provision reflects the recognition of India’s strength in delivering high-quality services globally and reinforces the importance of mobility for Indian professionals in driving innovation and growth,” it said.

I can see that Trump could fail due to his poor diplomatic skills. This is despite of the fact that his strategy being right and his intentions truly aligned with America's long term interests.

Right.....that 145% is 100% going to be dropped in a matter of weeks

President Trump on Wednesday said he would not pull back on 145% tariffs against China to get them to the negotiating table for a trade deal.

Why it matters: Trump's comments may dent the market's optimism that Saturday's planned talks in Switzerland could lead to a de-escalation of the trade war that has roiled the global economy
