You think our borders are secure? You think the Chinese are able steal all of our IP from the comfort of their intelligence agencies in China? Read the article again and apply a process oriented thought process how IP theft happens. If you still need help in understanding what subversive options are available to a country, look up the US Navy seals, or the special forces of other countries.
No, China at present does not have the capability to place any sort of meaningful Special Forces into the United States. And China has no allies that would be willing or able to do the same. At this point in time - there is only one military in the world that can project and sustain military operations 6,500 miles from it's border.
Are you sure? We have been using proxies against each other for decades. Since 9/11, there has been a significant series of damaging “Events” upon our energy and rail transportation infrastructure. In some cases, a close succession of events with the same characteristics. While I have not heard anything from national media on this, there have been stories on local media. If you care to, research natural gas pipeline explosions and fires in the US, an attack on a major electric substation in Silicon Valley and its implications if it was successful, railroad derailments and the type of cargo lost such as aerospace and energy related, and regular arson spanning decades West of the Mississippi River, particularly on the West Coast and neighboring states. You could also research Islamic training camps in the US. In fact, while living on the West Coast, I nearly called the FBI on a new roommate because he fit a profile of a terrorist based on at least six criteria. He soon moved out, however. There are also the seemingly random nightclub shootings. So while much of the dirty work in the US is done by Muslims, it does show our vulnerability to any country that wishes to make our life difficult, whether we are in a shooting war or not.
Claims of countries being national security threats are what politicians do to win elections and scare people... Russia... China.... North Korea... Iraq... Makes good soundbites
I can think of nothing more asinine than for China to directly or indirectly orchestrate subversive terror in the United States. The United States is their largest export market and the EU at number two is a distant second. With a stroke of a pen, under such a circumstance the President of the United States would be able to destroy the Chinese economy overnight.
Rattcliffe is a partisan hack put in there to launder intelligence news for Donnie. He's not qualified for the job and is just spouting the "chinaman bad" narrative the WH pushes.
Well, China has only made things worse in terms of their antagonistic and highly confrontational relationships with their neighbors like India, Australia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
no doubt about it, and in effect they are America's biggest rival on the world stage. I'm just not buying the biggest security threat when we still got that pesky Russia problem that they keep trying to sweep under the rug. We'll see if a new competent intelligent apparatus gets us to the bottom of COVID, NKorea nuke program, cyber security, and Uygur concentration camps.
I personally don't put much stock in Russia being a legitimate national security threat to the US. Certainly not on the level of China.
I agree with this. With this I disagree, because then where will the American consumer get all their cheep shit? Go into any big-box retailer and read the "Made in" labels. That stroke of the pen will be the end of our runaway consumerism for the cheep shit, and thus the end of our forward-thinking economy. We really need to change the mindset of the American consumer to eschew the cheep shit from China, and look to buy from places other than the CCP. I recall we tried that a few years ago with the "Buy USA only" campaign from someone, but that failed. So maybe it should just be the "buy stuff made in anywhere other than China" campaign.
