People do not enable anything. They simply don't have a choice but to survive in the most efficient way and best way possible. But I believe everybody can change and will change when circumstances change to the point that they no longer see having a dictatorial regime as the best way for them to survive anymore then they will want to try something else. All of the countries that practice democracy today, with the exception of immigrant countries like the United States and Canada, all started with absolute monarchy which is a dictatorial political system just like China but they all changed to embrace democracy when they saw that dictatorial regime does not work for them anymore. And embracing democracy is not culturally specific. Democracy is practiced by countries across all continents, not just in Europe and North America so I have faith that China will one day change as well, eventually. The only difference is China is taking longer than the rest to change but it will change. The only thing that we need to do is protect ourselves and not let us be harmed by China under its current autocratic regime and not to have our way of life, our practicing of democracy to be ruined by autocratic regimes like China in any way.

What the world is going through is exactly what was described by Karl Marx. It's going through the last stage of capitalism until it reaches the true zenith state of communism, real communism.

People do have a choice, always have. Critical mass is required to change government but it's all up to the population. Monarchy survived for so long because the majority of people supported the system, they accepted that as peasants they are just expendable for the royalty.

Yes people do have a choice but survival always dictates how and when different choices are executed. The French Revolution didn't happen just because people wanted to exercise their choice; it happened because people couldn't survive anymore; they were dying; they couldn't support their families anymore; their children were dying so that's when they felt they had no choice but to rise up and topple over the government. Mathematically, people will only rise up and cause a change if the probability of survival after rising up to cause change is > probability of survival under the status quo. As long as there is one chance for them to survive under the status quo, as long as the current regime is able to appease the mass enough to allow the majority of them to survive in their mind, the mass would not rise up, enough to cause changes. The word "sheeple" is not invented out of thin air.

  4. "Late stage captalism" is such an utterly bullshit concept. Marx himself would have massively changed his ideas if he had lived to be 200 years old. The idiot modern religious Marxists though use this term to not accept being basically completely wrong economically. Really no different than apocalyptic Christianity who believe the end is near and have been waiting for the return of Christ for 1900+ years.

All we really see is proof of Iron law of oligarchy if actually being objective.

Monarchy, democracy, whatever China is supposed to be...all descend into oligarchy rather quickly.

Even that Wikipedia page has a study that shows how Wikipedia itself has conformed to the iron law of oligarchy.

There is no good fairy tale though to spin around the iron law of oligarchy

If Karl Marx is living today, he would've created exactly the same theory. We are descending into an oligarchy because the conditions for the next stage are not met yet and we are still at the stage of capitalism.

You think the CCP as a whole is after personal wealth? I get the sense that the CCP was all for China like the Nazi’s were all for Germany and unlike African dictators who are all for themselves.

They have a different notion as to what China is (for example human rights vs economic growth) than the west has.
