American manufacturing companies are having a field day using China as a scapgoat for their woes. On the one hand, they want protectionist policies, tariff increases, etc...and 280 million Americans end up paying more for their TV sets, furniture, etc because of it. Yet every single large American corporation is just giddy with excitment at the thought of entering the Chinese market. Wal Mart, Microsoft,...they all want to hook 1 billion+ new customers on their products. Protectionist policies will only be a band aid to Americas declining manufacturing base. It'll never change the fundamentals.
