Chicago trading firms.....

Be careful about particular Chicago-area proprietary derivatives groups. At least one gives a nominal draw, only pays out at the end of the year, and does not pay you on a 1099-B (ouch!). If you make any serious money at all, this can be crippling and frustrating.

  2. As a local, Portillo's is weekly stop with good quality and consistency. :)

  3. Once again, no specifics...to simply say mistruths about a platform you no longer use is silly.

Arca has simply added server farms, which helps with the reliability...since Redi does so much volume, the backbone needs to be strong. I've said that many times...in direct response to your question.

We have very little down time with Redi, and have even less in the last year or so. So I don't know what you mean by "reliability"....unless, of course you were somewhere with less than ideal connectivity.
What makes you money that Redi does not provide...?? Simple.....and the thousands who use Redi could use something else....I still think that platforms are such a small part of trading that it doesn't matter...but our thousands of orders get filled every day, and our people are probably the most successful in the business on average...

I could put one of my good traders in front of an old DOS based FORCE machine and they would out-perform most with all the "bells and whistles"...that is the point that I am trying to make.

Enjoy your platform,, whatever it is, and I hope you are making millions!!

Like I said, not a big deal if you like something else...some like Fords some like Chevies....and don't bother coming back with a Mercedes analogy....

We are checking out different platforms all the time, and as I said, when we find a better one, we may choose to explore changing.

    Back to trading...

Mistruths seem to be anything that contradicts your opinion.

ARCA server farms don't mean squat. Anyone with ARCA benefits from this. It's not REDI+ specific.

REDI+ reliability is subpar according to every colleague I have in the business that uses it. That's why all of them are moving to non-SLK firms.

"platforms are such a small part of trading that it doesn't matter"...Keep thinking that way...One of your good traders using Force is no match for one of your good traders using a top flight platform.

    Back to trading... :)

  10. Mr. Beef has become the tourist trap for now. And the bakery is ok I suppose. Half Shell gone? News to me. But I did hear that it was moving (a while ago). Can't tell you for sure though. I do prefer Leona's or Bone Daddy's if I had the choice though. Always favorites when I have guests in town. :)
