  1. Former Chicago police Officer William Cozzi was sentenced to prison Thursday for beating a man who was handcuffed and shackled in a wheelchair.

Cozzi was sentenced to 40 months in prison. He was caught on videotape beating Randy Miles with a bludgeon in 2005.

Cozzi pleaded guilty in January, received probation and was preparing to return to work when the case was turned over to federal authorities. He was later indicted on federal charges of depriving civil rights.
