If as an engineer he is a climate change denier, no amount of data -scientific or anecdotal - will convince him he's delusional. Instead he's left arguing against the simplification of terms that are used to make it simple enough for the great majority to understand. You do you. I'm just glad you're on the fringe.
Exactly. The chart is irrelevant to deliberately misleading. The levels of global industrialization in 1950 compared to today are completely differently.
Third chart goes up to 2016…or simple math sez not even 8 full years ago. Hardly deliberately misleading or irrelevant. They’re data points regarding temperature over much longer than 74 years.
Okay, I gotta admit I have not read through all six pages of this thread, so it's possible that someone already posted this or something like it. But I ran across this article on The Guardian that talks about why EVs are not performing well in the cold: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2024/jan/19/tesla-battery-dying-cold-weather-charging-winter
No current technology battery can perform in serious cold. Apparently Tesla uses heating to keep the battery warm and perform better but that heating is also running off of the same battery. Some gasoline engines only start having problems below -40c if they're already started.
my Tesla (circa 2017) did 60percent of its summer performance during the normal New England cold days. That doesn’t count the 4percent leakage every night. the car would do about 3.2 miles/kwh in the summer, about 2.2 miles/kwh in the winter and lose 4kwh overnight.
It's kind of amazing how much they manage to leave out. It could be for this reason... Or it could be for this reason... I dunno may start out with saying what you actually did and what the net result was. If you want to be actually informed https://wattsupwiththat.com/2018/08/21/temperature-tampering-temper-tantrums/
I think elon now realizes that some of his models needed to by Hybrid. Pure electric is very impractical ..having all of the models EV. Aside from the freezing weather..in the south, during summer, the tesla battery burns down quickly powering the AC system. The international competitor EV companies mostly have Hybrids on the market...or they are planning mostly hybrids. Im not a fan of EV ..but i would buy a hybrid pickup or SUV. The international competitors is who elon is worried about today. BMW, Benz, Volkswagen, Toyota, Honda, Kia..ect biden put too many eggs in his netZero political strategy...it will be focal and an exposed nerve during the election. Elon prolly does want OUT of tesla...or to transform tesla away from pure netZero..pure electric ..away from cali based production completely.
