  2. Electric razor on wheels? I don't even know what you mean by that. But you are right, there are very few people willing to pay $40k for an electric vehicle. That's why it will be up to the car company's to bring the cost down to a viable level. But this couldn't happen if a few people in the beginning didn't purchase and use them so that the car company's know that there is a market for them.

He means that it has the transportation utility of an electric razor as in nearly zero utility.

A liberal car salesman trying to push the GM Volt in ET's P&R forum. Pretty comical. :D

GM will never willingly produce an electric vehicle and you know it. They make their money on internal combustion engines. It will be up to some new companies to really develop proper electric vehicles.

But I don't deny they are coming. I rather like the movie "Gattaca" where everyone is driving old stylish cars all retrofitted with electric technology. Kind of a cool vision of the future.

  4. What do you mean no utility? I can confortably fit three adults and my golf clubs in the car. I don't need any more than that. So GM makes money on engines now, why can't they make money on electric cars now? The Volt still has an engine in it.

I'm not so much as pushing the Volt, as I am correcting the fallacy's being made. Let's just face it, you want a Volt but it's now become such political hot topic that you can't be caught dead in one out of fear of what others will say. What a shame.

You sell Volts which pretty much makes you a hustler and a liar. I will not argue engineering with you for another second because I'm not going to waste anymore time on a GM showroom simpleton.

If you are comfortable robbing people in this economy and selling what amounts to rather large folly then go right ahead. I'll certainly never set foot in a GM showroom for the rest of my life. Not my problem.

  7. What do you think about the VW Jetta diesel? A friend of mine bought one and he loves it. He drives about 1200 miles a week in the DFW area. He said he's getting 41 mpg.

You didn't ask me but a couple of people at work have them and love them. I've also read that they are reliable and that engine lasts a very long time. Diesel is a little more expensive then gasoline though so you have to factor that into comparisons. Your massive IQ should make those calculations seem like childs play.

  9. The Volt reminds me of the water saving toliets mandated by our glorious government. Not only do they not work, they actually cause more water to be used due to multiple flushes, especially from those like me who take huge dumps. :D
The idiots touting the new 50 dollar light bulbs are cut from the same mold as well. The Volt is a piece of useless trash, period! The energy still has to come from somewhere, and they are death traps on wheels. NG is the answer, and everyone with an ounce of intellectual honesty knows it.
