Really? Was someone lying about something?

The car didn't do what GM said it would do. The range is not 40 miles it is 25 miles at best and that is after 2 sessions of charging for 12-hours each on a 120 volt connection. That just doesn't make the vehicle usable for most people.

The inability for the car to provide cabin heat when operated on electric power is a deal breaker for those in cold climates. It is just one shortcoming after another.

Glad the car suits your needs but evidently it didn't work for enough people that sales are inadequate to justify continued production. The engineering is so poor that most people that know the technology walked away.

Too much money for too little car.

  2. I'd rather buy coal from West Virginia than oil from Canada/Saudi Arabia/Iran.

  5. I drove 22 miles yesterday with 17 miles left on the charge. How do you come up with 25 miles at best? Have you even seen or driven a production Volt? The heater works just fine. It wears a lot on the battery but still works fine. I rarely use it because by the time it heats up, I'm at my destination. Plus, you can remote start the car and heat it up while still plugged in. It's apparantly working just fine for the 500 people on voltstats.net who drove 74% electric in February.

I have no idea what this two session charging thing is you're talking about. You can plug in the Volt at any time, in either connection and the charge and battery life will be the same.
