US/Russia tied 2:2. Probably the exepected result.

Now I think there are several teams tied for 1st. The last few rounds are going to be nail biters.

The result was somewhat expected. I actually gave the edge to Russia because of the big ratings difference on the fourth board - Grischuk being there!

The real US-Russia surprise was on the women's side. Russia has a huge ratings advantage, but the US team beat them, thanks to a blunder by Kosteniuk in a probably drawn position.

USA vs Norway which means Magnus. I would flip board 1 &3 for USA for this match.

Why do you want So to play Carlsen? I think Caruana vs Carlsen is fine.

    Because So fears no one.

Okay. I don't think Caruana fears Carlsen, and I think it's a good matchup.

It's down to the wire - a two horse race for gold between USA and Ukraine.

    Final round pairings:
USA - Canada (!) I didn't realize Bareev was playing for Canada.
    Ukraine - Slovenia

Where are you getting the pairings from? Even on the official Olympiad site it is not posted?
