Yeah saw that, Magnus has this very bizarre tendency to start a tournament horribly. Karjakin will probably press like crazy in game 1 of the WCC in NYC this fall, since Magnus is very vulnerable at the beginning. Karjakin is a very difficult player to beat, so an early "free point" giveaway by Magnus is not recommended in the WCC.
Yes, Karjakin should try to press early. Although I would have preferred a Carlsen-Caruana match, I'm looking forward to this one.
This a great trend in chess. You have a side tournament, right with the most elite tournament in the world. The layout is psychologically very respectful of the amateur. This is very exciting for the amateur.
