Actually I am to the far right...capitalism is number 1 way to progress....

Just because I do not agree with the Bush way does not mean I am to the left...
    ..................................................................................

Do you really think that Bush Cheny were unaware of the effect that they would have on oil prices by their Iraq War...and Iran nuclear threat hype ????

If they were not...then this a sign of incompetence....

It could be some incompetence ...and also some cronyism....not a very good picture....

It's amazing to see people defending Bush, Rumsfeld, et al, on the basis of a "they aren't gutless democrats" argument. Have we lost our minds as a country? These guys, whether they lied, or were simply incompetent, (1) chose to get us into a war (2) whose conduct they screwed up, and (3) for which they have no planned "victory" and (4) refuse even to acknowledge that things MIGHT have gone a bit awry. Although, of course, they all "take responsiblity". This catastrophe has nothing to do with the competence or lack of it of the democrats.

The country needs to get back to its first principles, which include responsibility, accountability, fiscal realities, and if not respect for the opinions of others, at least a smidgen of awareness that if EVERYONE else thinks we're an out-of-control agressor, that maybe there's something to it.

Fortunately, we still have elections, and, post-November, I think some congressional subpoenas will begin to yield some interesting documents (and indictments).

On the other hand, as an Ohio resident, I am about to become paranoid to the point where I don't put rigged voting machines beyond the pale, any more.

If we don't take war signals when they come, we'll get the same results as a trader who doesn't take his trading signals when they come. Iraq had weapons programs, they kicked inspectors out, and they were given 12 years. If you don't take that signal, you deserve another 9-11.
And to the comment that EVERYBODY is against us, well if a whole lot of people in countries who supported the war don't count, I suppose. I would rather think that people who lose elections are the ones who don't count.
By the way, would anyone trust the above commenter with the voting machines in Ohio?

Trying to reason with a liberal is like trying to reason with a child. They will never understand until they mature, if ever.

  7. This is rather pathetic...

Here are just a few examples:

    1. The IAEA told everyone that Iraq didn't have WMD's. We have now verified at enormous expense in lives and money what was already known -- that this was true.

    2. The administration cherry picked the data it liked and ignored the rest to sell this war the the American public. In fact, as the Blair memo reveals, the administration was trying to create an incident to justify war as they didn't have enough evidence to start one. Moreover, a date for starting the war had been set while Bush was still publicly claiming no decision had been made.

    3. If that weren't enough, Bush committed what for anyone else in the US would have been treason by authorizing the release of a covert agent's name to bolster his case when things began to fall apart on the Niger claim.

Let me simplify it for you. They conned you so they could start a war of choice. The "war signal" was a fake. The administration loaded the bid and got people like you to buy. Apparently, you are still unable to see that you were conned.

    OK...
