Cheapest Downtowns in the USA to buy property

  1. Hi,

I was wondering if people could name me places that have cheap downtown prices, but the population was growing in the state.

I'm looking for inner city, gangster infested cheap neighbourhoods. I believe in the next 5-10 years, if oil continues to sky rocket, people will move closer and closer in the cities.

    Anyone have suggestions?

it's like buying stock in severe downtrend..you know..if it's down, when everybody is up-there is a probably a reason for it. how about different perspective-if oil is going to skyrocket-then we will see severe inflation. then people are getting poorer and have no intention to buy anything. on top of that Fed will have no choice, but to raise the rates(to 'fight the inflation'). and this will make those houses even less affordable. buy Detroit..Camden, Trenton,Philly..there some really s**ty places right in every downtown :)

  3. If you think oil will skyrocket ...

Buy an oil well in Texas or buy XLE.

  4. I imagine Detroit and Cleveland have to be on that list. Inner city Cleveland had homes selling for $40k and under, last time I looked.

The Grandiose Decay of Abandoned Detroit
Nearly a third of Detroit's homes are vacant, and along with the residences, the city's stately hotels and cultural centers have been abandoned as well, falling into dramatic disrepair, their grand ruins still showing the promises of a once-booming city.

Go there and stay rent-free, but don't forget your shotgun and take a seminar on sleeping with one eye open.

Pittsburgh has cheap real estate downtown. I believe pop is growing in state, but not by much. The biggest office scraper in town the US Steel Tower sold for only around 300M not long ago. You can have yourself an impressive size office building downtown for a very few million or a lot less possibly. Downtown population is growing, BUT they are cutting the lifeline of bus service. PS read 'the dream' by Gurbaksh Chahal if you haven't already.

  7. that makes complete sense.

buying into a crack infested city that is rotting at its core with a dead or declining rust bucket industry or no stable tax base to support it.

lock yourself up with a few guns and a case of ammo while you pray for a miracle to happen.

    give your head a shake.
