Cheaper Alternative to IB for European stocks

  1. Thanks for your comments. I took a look at DeGiro and they do offer a very good rate on LSE but it's only for LSE and only for UK resident...

I'm based in Continental Europe and the DeGiro rates (https://www.degiro.fr/data/pdf/fr/Tarifs.pdf) are around 4 euros + 4bp ... so very similar to IB.

Trick is to open different degiro accounts in every country and trade locally.

Any recommendation for UK CFD (as DeGiro is not offering CFDs) ? Thanks!

    yes, don't touch CFDs.
If you want leverage, use a portfolio margin account.

  5. On UK, don't touch CFD = pay stamp duty (50bp) ... I would rather avoid that.

that;s why I am in the UK and only trade US stocks.
AIM is stamp duty free if you insist...
