Discussion in 'Trading' started by KCalhoun, Sep 25, 2020.

Do you believe chatroom gurus claims of $100,000 real money profits in 1 day?

  1. No, of course not -- report them to the SEC

Your problem, Ken, is that you are running the same confidence game from 20 years ago and it is outdated compared to what the new breed of scammers are using. Stop complaining about how the kids are doing it better than you and get with the program. The fish today do not care about your claims of being an “honest educator“ or that you are an “industry expert.” They want to see big dollars moving fast in the account. You already do a lot of cherry picking, so up and down is not a problem. Just show them big numbers. You can’t charge big if you don’t show big. Jesus, you are a dinosaur.

Only amateurs look for big numbers, the pros look for consistency and smooth equity curves with minimal drawdown.

So far 15/17 (88%) of those voting Agree with my points.

    • Why do you never see young posers show them making $100,000 winning days using the reputable IB TWS platform? Because their sim/demo version is clearly marked as such.
    • Smoke and mirrors, carefully orchestrated social media marketing

    • Like I said, ask any of the guys claiming big $ profits to do 5 odd-size trades in a row, eg 355 or 54 or 877 shares, and WATCH THE TAPE/ time & sales to verify if they're trading live. Honest guys will say sure, dishonest guys will refuse. Period.
    • To clarify, You pick the number, eg say "guru, for your next 5 trades can you make them 68 shares each and tell us the instant you put the trade on?" And watch time & sales

    Ken,

I hear what you are saying. Yes, there are many scammers out there on fintwtis and YouTube. You can tell right away who's not a real trader.

Of all those people, I think the 2 legits are Steven Dux and Madaz. I've been a sub in Madaz chatroom and so I know his trading personally. He calls out his trades in real-time. I cancelled after 2months b/c his style wasn' t for me. But that doesn't mean he's not legit.

To put up with those numbers, these 2 guys swing 5K to as high as 200K shares(Steven Dux does this!) ! Once they get that high in shares, they ain't going to be d*cking around with 54 or 877 shares. Not worth their time.

Again, if it's sim account(which I highly doubt), then how come their winning is not only high but consistently so. Making good trades day in and day out. I know bad traders who suck even on sim. lol. If the person doesn't know how to trade it doesn't matter where they trade it real or sim they wouldnt be able to make money. At least not consistently.

Notice these guys are real daytraders. they don't care about macroeconomics, Fed, news, etc.

They trade particular setup/patterns day in day out. They hone to the level where they size in appropriately and flip it out. With that kind of sizes it's not hard to put up those kinds of big P&L.

Now, are they perfect? NO! I've seen both Madaz and Dux down six figures. But they know their edge well and are ruthless in execution.

    That's my observation.

Thanks, your post is well written and sincere.

Can we all agree that the request to prove real money trading via odd-size trades (size similar to what they normally trade, but irregular so it stands out in t&s) is smart?

This "tape test" can help you avoid fakers.

    the real problems

    1) Youtube and twatter, don't shut them down. You only get shut down if you bash a democrat.

    2) SEC doesnt take control of the space.

"Madaz and Dux" as the poster calls them , are crims and should be deported

Ken; Does the SEC regulate your industry?

What special qualifications does one need to sell trading courses?

Can anyone sell access to their live trading rooms or is licence of some sort required?

Is there an agency the public can turn to if they feel they have been scammed?

A lot of time when I put in a market order for stocks it will show up on my trade ticket as several fills until the number of shares I ordered is completed. I'm not sure how this shows up on time and sales but I'm assuming it shows as several trades.
