LOL, Dufferdon your posts are great. I truly enjoy them. I will gladly "stand up and identify myself." By "involved in the industry" I simply meant that I have become acquainted with many of the people who run b/d's, chatrooms, etc. I produced a course on Level 2 and order execution targeted towards the transitioning direct access trader (TradeCourse.com) which is available via affiliations with various websites, etc. I do not teach trading strategies or provide trade calls etc., still trying to figure out that part of the game myself. I stand ready and waiting for your wrath, may God give me the strength to endure.
So Candletrader, do you think Jay Yu has too many calls in his room or what? Or are you against scalping? Against trading with the futures? Please be more detailed with the Jay Yu questionable approach. I would like to know more if you know more. Fill me in. Thanks
What ithe heck can you teach about level2? If the thing trades between big levels then reduce your risk maybe? But honestly I cant think of anything else of that is of any value when I look at level 2. It used to be worthwhile for order routing, but I don't use that any more..in fact I have not looked at a level 2 screen in about 4 months and I haven't died yet. If you can give me a good reason to look at it again maybe I will..but its hard for me think of one. B
when I started this thread, I never, NEVER, expected it to have gotten to this level of a fever's pitch. Frankly, I thought we'd get some comments about these outrageous monthly fees at/around $300 monthly; or we'd get some comments about the authors arrogance in their boasts of profitability; or we'd get comments about those chatrooms that obscure natural market moves in technical babbyly-gook and claim they called that trade; or we'd get comments about crossover comments where some miraculous software (market timing, market screening, etc.) software that makes calls for the chatroom moderators. Well, who would have ever thought, we got comments along all those lines, and even more.
He teaches a level 2 course...???? is he the same guy that works with Ken at his semianrs ?? Scott something ?? Maybe he jumped on me for a reason when I posted........but whatver...life goes on.........
let me see if im keeping score properly.. Chris thinks Kens room is a sham.. Both Chris and Brandon have announced that breakouts arent a viable strategy anymore.. Ken says that its ok that he is a sham because at least he only has a small share, i mean trades small shares and doesnt present himself as anyones "daddy" when the noodles puptick.. DaTTrader has been identified by Duffy the Chartwiz slayer as vending a level 2 course which Brandon says is nonsense.. and Pej is now on the suspect list as someone with a possible alterior motive.. well.. i would like to say thank you to the vendors on this thread that refrained from critical comments about your competitors.. its one thing for a customer to relate their experience with a service, but another for a competitor to throw mud.. the positioning on here is getting to the point of being silly.. -qwik What the superior man seeks is in himself. What the mean man seeks is in others. - Confucius
Both Chris and Brandon have announced that breakouts arent a viable strategy anymore.. How do you get that from this: Breakouts are still a valid play..but not the same kind that we used to see. Now what we see more are some volatility coil building for several days and then a strong break (look at the DOW, SP400, SP500, Nasdaq today for an idea of this)..or sometimes a stock which will gap up strongly in the am but do nothing at all until later in the day. Breakouts are still a valid play. I think I was pretty clear in saying in that post that they still can and do work. However, you cant trade every one of them as you could in late 1999 and early 2000 and if you try you will be broke fast.
I think that it is only natural that some-one who spends a lot of time being exposed to certain products and services develops an opinion about them. In this regard I would think that most of the vendors could if they choose to provide a good opinion on most services out there. All my life I have been the kind of guy who speaks my opinion. Growing up I had two older brothers and suffered broken ribs, numerous bruises and once a broken jaw because my aligator mouth would over ride my tad poole ass. (un)Fortunatly I still have that quality about me (the mouth) and when I do have an opinion I will always give it. I think Ive always been fair with them. Even while I was running a pay service, if I saw that a trader had a reasonable chance of making it, but not with the style I was using, I would do my best to find a suitable place to send them (usually to realitytrader). I know that it leaves a bad taste in many people's mouth when a vendor comes out and says something about another vendor, but honestly I dont care. The first question was, can you recommend a trading service and I did, there are three. I did mention myself, and while some people think that might be in bad taste, I think it would be much worse if I did not feel as though I could include myself in the category of the best. Certainly there will be a bias on my part, but if you don't think you provide one of the better services..what the hell are you doing offering it? I think also though that my opinion of myself is one that many people would agree with, so its not a case of my mouth over riding my ass here..I can back up what I say. When it comes to the combonation of solid market calls and education I think that we (Toni and I) do a fine job, and Im proud of the work we do every day helping people out. I don't see the problem with saying so.
Candle, I'm glad you find my posts valuable But, just to clarify to everyone: I AM NOT A CHATROOM VENDOR !!!!!!!! I never had a chatroom, and I doubt that I ever will. I can't trade and type at the same time --- I'm just not that talented. Happy New Year Everyone!
