  2. Brandon,

I'm watching Waxie's (Trendfund) new infomercial as I write this. He's actually more annoying on tv than he is in in his emails. I think this must be the fifth different product I've seen Joe Theisman hawk on tv.

My favorite quote from it so far: "If you can make money paper trading, you can make money." (From one of his testimonials)

Oh, now they have an 'expert' on the infomercial endorsing him. The president from Trade Portal. (which is Trendfund's partner)

  5. mjt,

Welcome to the murky world of snake oil, and people exploiting the 'greater fool' theory to its fullest extent.

Our only protection in this murky world is a grain of intelligence and a healthy dose of skepticism.

    AAA,

traderkay was wondering out loud why anyone would have two different sites posting the same calls and in his question he mentioned swingtrade.net. In response, Brandon posted both a humorous and serious response.

I don't think Brandon has anything to do with Alfa, though for a brief moment as I read his post I thought he was telling us he did. I was actually hoping he did since I have heard many good things about him.

    Exactly.

I don't think Brandon has anything to do with Alfa
That's true, his involvement is (was) with swingtrader.net and teachmetotrade.com. And, as he mentioned, his new site (with the same title as his and Toni's upcoming book) is tradingfrommainstreet.com

One thing no one has really addressed about chatrooms are: how easily can the results be duplicated? Who gives a crap if the moderators are traders or not, how much money they're making off the site, etc. etc. Someone on this board keeps asking: has anyone actually made consistent money with chatrooms? That's all I'm interested in. Can I or can I not duplicate the posted results without sacrificing my personal risk parameters? (Must play high volume liquid stocks; must have a decent risk/reward ratio; must not have outrageous drawdowns, etc).

With my experience I've only found one. Millennium-traders is absolutely impossible to duplicate. (Not saying you won't make money, you'll just never ever come close to their posts). Reality trader is excellent for learning, but some of the calls are quite vague. Same vague calls with Mtrader. Mtrader T/A with Allen is the only site I've found that is actually 100% honest and easy to duplicate. He's very good at calling the entire trade from entry to exit, adjusting stops, etc. The only problem is that he's really been struggling lately. I'm a little bugged by the site not being updated for 2 mos. as well. I haven't been there for a couple mos. so I don't know how he's been doing. Hopefully he'll get his mojo back soon because he really is a great guy and one of the few honest people in this biz.

As far as www.alfatrading.com goes, I've just started doing dd on them. So far I'm quite impressed. And btw, who cares about their percentage claims. I'm interested in points and whether or not the results are duplicable or not. They are up over 300 points this year! That's good enough to make me want to further investigate. I did some stats that you guys may find interesting. I'm going to be signing up this weekend and papertrading their calls to see how duplicable they are. So far the only two things I don't like about their past performance are 1) They went from making 106 points in Jan. to 6 points in Feb. (not too consistent) and 2) They had a 33 point drawdown in Feb. as well. (ouch).

    Here are the stats:see attatchment
