When a two companies merge, and a historical chart of the new company is shown, are the prices of one of the original companies or of the combination? Seeing a chart of T this morning made me think of this question. Was I looking at a chart of SBC, T, or a combination of the two? I'm thinking it was probably SBC as this was really a takeover with a name change. But what about when they call a deal "a merger of equals"? Cash
