i use sierra chart and am pretty happy. i should try the medved package since his support looks to be 1st class.

Yes, you're right. For now NeedForTrade Studio is just for charting and technical analysis. No direct order support is embedded. You need to manually enter orders in some thrid party application. Direct trading is planned to be done in the near future.
What in NeedForTrade Studio is "outdated"??? It's much more powerful than NT in nearly all implemented features.
