At my wretched work place, most of the ports are closed in the internet. I am unable to run popular softwares like eSignal, etc. to get real time charts. Can anyone suggest how do I get real-time charts with this situation. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
There are a few datafeeds that are very firewall and proxy friendly. MarketFeed is very reliable and fits the bill. Would use that with QuoteTracker http://www.quotetracker.com/marketfeed http://www.quotetracker.com/ one thing you didn't mention - what do you need? Equities? Futures? ....
there is reason why they do what they do, you better off buy one of those quote trek thingy than trying to by pass the security and getting caught latter.
I think that really depends on what their actual reason is for blocking the ports. If its specifically to bock those financial applications, then your point would be valid. If however its purely for security and they are just blocking all ports, using a proxy friendly datafeed is NOT a problem. Its not bypassing security any more than browsing the web would
Well, you're obviously not employee of the month. Your employer has you firewalled in to keep you at your task(s)!
