Charting Housing Prices

  2. Finally since 2003. Feel free to download the spreadsheet and make your own charts and discuss your observations on here.

    Obviously, technical analysis can probably be used for housing prices just as it can be used for stocks.

    There is actually a candlestick charting tool in Excel as well which it would take some time, but its possible to construct a chart with candles by quarter or half or annual with the open/close/highs/lows...

  4. I dont believe the inflation adjustment will matter in these technical charts.


    For example, American Airlines. It was at 40 in 2001 and then it hit 40 again in 07. Amazingly enough, it went down from there.

    Was it a coincidence that it could not seem to get over 40?

    Inflation or anything else didnt seem to matter. Traders were going to bid it up to 40 and then they got scared and sold it off.

    In regards to housing, people just look at the price. They dont care how inflation feeds into this and then they bid it up or sell it off accordingly...
