One more thing I try to remind people of everytime I see a case such as this. When u take a look at the track records of these CTA's, hedge funds, managed funds, etc, etc always take a look at how often these guys outperform with a modest amount of AUM, yet when the assets come pouring in the returns almost invariably come to a stand still.

If u take a look at the Barclay's Managed Funds Report for funds with $50 million and above, its an ugly situation. The market seems to be just "illiquid" and erratic enuf to frustrate the larger players who arent nimble enuf or short term enuf to capitalize on the volatility. It seems to be a market where the smaller funds are in a better position to exploit this whipsaw volatility.

  3. Why the funds under management has decreased so much?
Does it mean his client withdrawn because he didn't perform
good in 2004 or any other reason?

How come a brilliant system trader like him not making any
money from begining 2004 until today?

I mean what he could be doing wrong?
