If you were really to critisize those 2 legends, then do it for buying Amazon far too late as this is well inside their domain, but BTC is not their domain (stocks). RIP, legend of good advice far too few follow when our system literally is called CAPITALism.
LOL; You said substantial, Nubank is less than 1 billion investment in a 700 billion portfolio. It's an online bank. It makes its money making loans and providing banking services.
Well everyone else here makes a big fuss about El Salvador owning a measly $70 million in BTC. This is a billion dollar bank that is dealing in the stuff. Pretty substantial in comparison.
Insurance companies (the other money printers besides The Fed and Vegas) not railroads - is where it all started and has always been the lionshare of his purchasing power over the decades. Makes it, relatively speaking, easy to buy up chit when you got those premiums rolling in everyday.
Now you are comparing BRK to El Salvador. Like you said it's a almost billion dollar bank that is dealing in the stuff. They are guys selling the shovels to the gold miners. They make money being the middle man. At any rate it is not a substantial part of BRK's portfolio. If it was to go broke tomorrow I doubt it would affect the BRK stock price very much.
Correct. I always thought that was ingenious. Just goes to show lifes a game of luck though. One good earthquake and we may never have known his name.
So “substantial” only applies to percentage points and not actual large numbers? Either way I suspect that Buffet has an interest in BTC. He’s not stupid.
If he already has an interest in it, as you surmise, then why would he lie about it? Why would he go out of his way to ridicule it? What's the upside?
He has exposure to it,its no secret. He isnt silly enough to not have exposure to real estate either but he doesn't 'hold' any.He said it makes no sense for him to be a landlord.
