You're talking about psychology like it turns you into a sensitive sissy but I think it's the opposite. If I read you closely, methinks thy doth protest too much. Millions of people drive successfully every day. What if most people who tried to drive kept wrecking their cars and getting banged up? They'd try to modify their behavior. Behavior modification usually uses the language of Psychology. It'd different from driving, at least for me and I bet most people. It seems more like many sports where at a certain level of performance playing an "inner game" becomes essential. You're a much better trader than I am -- but what does that mean, really? It means I need to make changes.
Exactly. I just don't think ET is a good forum to have these kinds of serious discussions for the benefit of the developing traders. It's too easy for an immature 'know it all' type, to jump in and throw the thread off course, making it frustrating for those hoping to put serious effort into making a contribution here. I've made a suggestion on the Feedback forum, but don't expect to hear anything back (and I got trashed there as well, lol). I think I'll settle back into 'steath mode' now. Most of my 'brain dump' thoughts, for whatever little they might be worth, are posted above already. Best of luck to all, -Eric
If he starts talking stupid shit like this thread, then I'm very sure I'm going to tell him that he's a loser. I doubt that Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods will start telling a bunch of newbies to go into meditation and all the other BS. Most likely, he'll tell the kids/newbies to practice hard. All these BS comes after you have the skills.
Millions of people don't crash their cars (maybe hundreds... sure, alot of them from drinking or being high). They don't think about all the psychology stuff. A Nascar or F-1 driver learns to drive like everyone else first. They take a step forward and work on their skills. A high school driver with the same mentality as a top race driver doesn't make them a top driver. Skills come first, and the most essential part of it.
Re: Tiger Woods I guess he's a loser then. He uses a sports psychologist and said the following in regards to his game... "It's something you have to find from within. You have to keep pushing yourself from within." http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/m...tiger_woods_entering_a_zone_where_few_at.html That will be my last response to this argument so as not to clutter what could have been a good thread. The mods should delete all of this.
listen kid. It is very apparent you're a paper-trading tiger who knows jack shit about trading for a living. let alone trading at the same level as the guy you're arguing with. So just STFU and re-read what was posted in this thread. Maybe you'll learn something for a change.
Great. So you're saying tha if I can think like Tiger, I can play like Tiger. (I suck at golf. Never bothered to practice and get better at it) You know that he takes an hour practicing even during his tour. Practices 3+ hours a day, on his days off. I guess all the practice he does is to "ZONE" himself in the game....
I can't help but point out the two guys you pointed out are some of the biggest endorsers of psychological excercises and advanvement. along with dennis rodman and a slew of other nfl players.
Thanks. I don't agree with you. At least I can think for myself, not be a sheeple. Being a bit emotional, eh? Not a tidbit skeptical and see some irony between the content of the thread against what's been written towards me???? Interesting.
