Changing the date for new posts

    It would be a nice feature if we could set the date for new posts, thus being able to read historical posts from a set (older) date.

    Let's say I am curious what the market sentiment was just before/after a big meltdown or a certain historical day, I don't think there is currently an easy way to do it...

    Correct, there is no easy way to do it on ET itself, AFAIK.

    However, as a kluge, try the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. About 1,000 days from the last decade on ET are archived, particularly from 2004-06. Some of them could be close to your dates of interest. Included for each date is the content of most posts on both the Home page and the Forums page.

    Thanks, not a bad idea. At least it gives a little sample, although it only shows the first page of the threads.

    The look of the first page of ET hasn't changed in the last 6 years! I don't know if it is good or bad...
