I use a 2 point and 4 point bar size. 0.25 reversal factor and asymmetrical reversals. (aka, a Turbo renko style).
I cannot post the issue because a picture is frozen and not streaming. If the NQ is at 7500 and let's assume the range is 5 points and it hits 7506 the new bar starts as previous bar is painted. If it dips back to 7503 the previous bar is pulled back off until it gets back to 7505 again.
I THINK I see what you two guys (Ocho and lucy) are asking about, but if you could just give a specific time/date of your issue, as you seem to be listing specific examples, it would be the best way to show you what my charts show in those situations. Otherwise I will just have to go off of 85's example there, because 7500 was hit a couple times today on Sep NQ.
Once the chart is done the bars are drawn, I cannot show you this because the day is finished and all the bars are painted already .
lol I don't need any specific time, just post whatever you'd like to. I can reconstruct it once back at my desk in the morning. assuming I get my bars plotting correctly!
Ocho yours don't plot tick by tick? that would be a major problem for me. I've dealt with those kind - try using point original style. they don't do that and they don't backfill untouched prices inside of the bodies.
I'm having trouble formulating your bars on my chart. On my unirenko variant chart a 5 point range would be a 20 tick range bar, which here would be a 10 in the bar column (It is half the range of the bar, so you can form the wicks and candles). But the second number is even more important. That is the step size. It is how many more ticks above/below the close of the previous bar it takes to form a new bar...
And here is a pic to show what I mean. I drew a line from today's 7500 point on Sep NQ, and used a 10,4 unirenko chart. So each bar has a 20 tick range with a 5-tick step. That seemed to match closest to what you were looking at I think, Ocho... (Times listed at bottom are ET US time)
that looks very similar to my "hybrid" renko setting. (in mt5 I have an indicator that can build many different kinds of renko). I will post in the morning. Never heard of the Uni, so you've given me something to look into.
