CFTC casually mentions other futures firms probably close to failing

Here is a nice tidbit from a businessweek article today.

"Asked whether the CFTC thought other futures merchants like MF Global could also face bankruptcy, Sommers said there is no “watch list” for potential failures.

“I’m sure there are firms that may be close to the margins,” she said."

Sommers is one of the 5 CFTC commissioners.

I wish there was a way to know if my broker is one of the roaches.

 

CFTC - Lets worry more about the meaningless small stuff so we feel like we're still adequate.
