CEF year end tax loss selling

  1. Just my opinion here but some of the CEF's are trading at attractive discounts and are showing signs of being slowly bid up and then smacked down hard again on smaller volume. Considering how much people have gotten crushed on these instruments can't blame them. However, only 2 more days for tax loss selling. Will be interesting to see what happens to this asset class after the first, consider the ridiculously attractive yields on some of the instruments vs current anaemic bond yields. Wouldn't be surprised if some professionals buying here to do a short term discount play close while capturing some dividends.
