(ADTN.O: Quote, Profile , Research) posted a higher first-quarter profit helped by tax and life-insurance benefits and better-than-anticipated revenue. The company earned $16.9 million, or 24 cents a share, compared with $16.3 million, or 21 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose to $110.3 million from $108.6 million. Analysts on average expected the Huntsville, Alabama-based company to earn 20 cents a share, excluding items, on revenue of $105.9 million, according to Reuters Estimates.
